My name is Zach Olsen and I’m from South Jordan, Utah. I did my undergrad at the

University of Utah and attended medical school at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic

Medicine. I fell in love with emergency medicine during my third-year rotations. After

that, all I could think about was getting back to the ER. 

I chose Corpus Christi for residency because of the people. During my audition rotation

here, the faculty, staff, and residents all made me feel like I was right at home. The

patients I saw here were sick and the pathologies were diverse. The senior residents I

saw here were some of the best trained and most prepared I had the opportunity to

work with. It really made me want to be a part of such an incredible program. 

In my free time I enjoy bird watching (Corpus Christi is known as the birdiest city in the

US!), taking my family to the beach, hiking, camping, fishing, and generally just being

outside. With 9 months of incredible weather, this is a great place to live and explore.
