Hey y’all, I’m Michael D’Elia. I’m originally from Austin, TX and went to The University of Texas for undergrad (Hook ‘Em Horns!!). During college, I started working as an EMT for Marble Falls EMS and worked there for 3 years. After graduating from UT, I spent another 3 years with Austin-Travis County EMS before starting medical school in 2022. My 6 years in EMS gave me the opportunity to work with incredible clinicians and instilled a passion for prehospital care as well as emergency medicine. 

I attended medical school in Chicago, and was lucky enough to rotate with CCEMRP as a 4th year medical student. I immediately felt at home and everyone was supportive and welcoming. The didactic and sim lab sessions were engaging and the attendings were passionate about teaching. The program here offers the chance to care for an underserved and medically complex patient population. I ranked CCEMRP as my number one choice and was thrilled to match here and come back home to Texas. 

In my free time I enjoy reading, swimming, exercising, cooking, and spending days at the beach with my wife.
