My name is Katie. I say I am from Colorado, but I grew up with both parents in the military, so I

have lived all over the United States. Fun fact, I was born in San Antonio, Texas. Now, I will be

learning the beautiful art of Emergency Medicine just a couple hours away in Corpus Christi.

Another fun fact, I have a twin sister, Virginia, who graduated medical school only two days

after me. She will be doing her residency in General Surgery. Send prayers her way.

I am truly thrilled to do my residency in Corpus Christi. I loved my rotation here as a medical

student, and I knew right away that the people here–my fellow residents, attendings, and

staff–are the ones who make this place special. It is an undoubtedly unique program serving

a very medically-complex population. I feel very lucky for the incredible training that I get to

receive, and I look forward to my time here as a resident and exploring what Corpus Christi

has to offer. I have big plans to learn how to windsurf on Bird Island, fish (because the seafood

is incredible), and survive a jog in the humidity.
