Hi, my name is Justin Deleon, and I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I

completed my undergraduate degree at Texas Wesleyan University and attended

medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Between undergrad and

medical school, I worked as a scribe in the emergency department, where I was drawn

to the fast-paced, adrenaline-filled environment. Since then, I had my sights set on

emergency medicine.

I chose to complete my residency in Corpus Christi after rotating here as a medical

student. I experienced the benefits of an unopposed residency firsthand during my

rotation, when I had the opportunity to perform lumbar punctures, intubations, arterial

line placements, and many other procedures. Additionally, the camaraderie among the

residents, attendings, and medical students made it clear how supportive the learning

environment was. The program’s close-knit culture and strong mentorship continue to

make it the perfect place to train.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy PC gaming, lifting weights, and praying the Dallas

Cowboys can finally win a playoff game. I also enjoy trying a new restaurant around

Corpus Christi every week with my lovely wife. The friendships I’ve built with my co-

residents have made training here even more rewarding.
