We appreciate your interest in the emergency medicine program at CHRISTUS Spohn- Corpus Christi. Every academic year, we accept 8 new PGY-1 residents.
We only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Our program offers PGY-I positions through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and complies with their policies for all of our residency positions. The Emergency Medicine Residency Program Office will not accept paper applications. All applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years.
Once the ERAS post office opens on September 1st, please submit your ERAS application to us. Our deadline for applications is November 15th. Addendums to the applications will continue to be downloaded; however, completed applications received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be reviewed. The entire application is carefully evaluated prior to the offer of an interview, and interviews are scheduled until all slots are filled.
A complete application includes the following:
□ Completed ERAS application
□ Official transcript from your medical school
□ Curriculum Vitae
□ Dean’s Letter / MSPE
□ USMLE and/or COMLEX Board Scores for Step I and Step II CK. It is highly recommended that you schedule Step II CK early in the year, so your scores will be available at the time of the interview. It is expected that applicants pass their Step I and Step II on the first attempt.
□ Personal statement
□ Three current letters of recommendation (CORD SLOR preferred) are required- one of which should be from an emergency medicine physician that directly supervised your clinical care
