I am from Houston so Corpus Christi was a perfect fit for me. It is close enough for me to drive home, but also not too close. The city itself has very much a beach vibe that I enjoy. I like that the people here are laid back, that includes residents, faculty, and people in general. On days off, I golf at one of the local courses or go to the beach and lounge around. Golf in Corpus Christi is especially challenging because of the wind, but I get more shots for my money. I rotated here as a fourth year medical student and was impressed by the facility. Everything was brand new and clean. The facilities got my curiosity, but it was the program and people that got my attention. I chose this program because I got along with all the people I worked with. The amount of procedures I saw during my rotation made me want to be a part of this program. Other hobbies include eating all sorts of foods and going to Big Bend National Park. Future aspirations include owning a sailboat and circumnavigating the globe to try different foods.
